As for food and drinks, there are lots of restaurants, cafés, and terraces where you can enjoy a nice meal or a cold drink.

IJlst is a cute little village and mostly known among the Frisians for its part in the “Elfstedentocht”. This cute little village is characterized by many historic buildings. The center has an elongated shape with beautiful linden trees. Have a seat on one of the cozy terraces in the village or in a great restaurant.

The picturesque town of Hindelopen is located directly on the IJselmeer. There will be lots to see in this village, like the beautifully painted houses, the characteristic facades, the people dressed in stylish historical costumes (klederdracht), the likhúskes, and the cute little wooden bridges.
